Healthcare Industry Leader Anthony Cruz Joins SFC Fluidics® as Chief Executive Officer

Fayetteville, AR – September 1, 2012 – SFC Fluidics has begun its next phase of commercialization through the appointment of a new CEO, Anthony (Tony) Cruz. He brings to the Company a breadth of over twenty years of sales, marketing, and business development experience within the medical device and biotech sectors. Mr. Cruz aims to match SFC’s broad technology portfolio with customers and partners that work in the medical device space.

“SFC’s foundation of technologies is well-suited for critical and expanding market needs within drug delivery and point of care diagnostics,” Mr. Cruz remarked during a recent Company meeting. “Commercializing technologies can take time; the important thing is to add value to the market in a manner that is deliberate and focused.”

Mr. Cruz’s most recent position was as General Manager at Facet Technologies, a privately held company supplying disposable medical products to several Fortune 500 companies that target diabetes glucose monitoring and general sample collection.

Prior to Facet, Mr. Cruz served as Global Vice President of Business Development at US Surgical, a division of Tyco Healthcare (Covidien), a $10B global leader in healthcare products, where he oversaw acquisition of technologies and companies. He had previously served as a Global Business Director at Becton Dickinson (Franklin Lakes, NJ) as well as business development and finance leadership roles at two biotechnology companies: one of which was acquired for over $2B and the other is currently listed on NASDAQ with a $1B+ valuation.

A veteran of the US Air Force, Mr. Cruz earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Tufts University (Medford, MA) and his M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA).
